An Australian influencer has fascinated followers by revealing she spent her childhood growing up at an all boys boarding school.
TikTok star Sam Guggenheimer shared the story of her unusual experience living at Perth’s Christ Church Grammar and Melbourne Grammar School from the age of eight with her 200,000 followers.
With her father serving as boarding house headmaster at the two schools, she and her family needed to live on campus to support his job — but it didn’t come with special treatment.
“I’d kinda follow the boarding schedule because obviously like my dad lived there so we would kinda do the same thing like I wasn’t allowed to do anything that the boarders weren’t allowed to do,” she said.
“So if the boarders had rules I had to kind of live by them ‘cause it was unfair that like the boarding house’s daughter was allowed to do whatever she wanted and the boys couldn’t.”
Despite having to follow the rules, Ms Guggenheimer was able to join in on activities like ice skating and trips to the shops before she moved out of the boarding house in 2022.
Now 22, the Melbourne-based content creator revealed that she never had a romantic connection with any of the boys, but would occasionally pine after some of them when she was around 10 years old.
“I kind of looked at the boys as like my brothers and I was like a lot more involved in the boarding house,” Sam said.
“I would hang out with them, like I literally would make music videos and then make them sit down and watch them, watch me dance, anyway, it was a bit weird but like I did have like massive crushes (sic) with the boys.”
Though she never wanted to pursue anything, Ms Guggenheimer admitted the close quarters meant that the students saw every side of her.
“They (students) would just see me all the time like definitely someone has seen me get changed, someone has seen me yell,” she said.
“I wish there was a fun story,” Sam added.
“A lot of the boys were kind of scared of me because of my dad, like no one really wanted to touch me cause I’m Mr Guggenheimer’s daughter so I was kind of like a bit of like an off-limit thing.”
